What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that I have had the privilege of practicing and experiencing since 2007. It taps into the universal life energy, often referred to as Chi or Qi or Prana, to promote deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and a profound sense of balance. The foundation of Reiki is based on the belief that we are all connected through Universal Life Force energy, which flows through our bodies and influences our overall well-being.
The Origins of Reiki:
Reiki was developed by a Japanese scholar and spiritual practitioner named Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. Dr Usui embarked on a personal quest for healing and enlightenment, leading him to discover the art of Reiki. His teachings and practices have since been passed down through generations, via teachings and attunements, allowing individuals like me to connect with this powerful healing modality.
How Does Reiki Work?
During a Reiki session, I gently place my hands lightly on or slightly above your body, allowing the healing energy to flow through me and into you, holding space. This energy intuitively seeks out areas of imbalance, promoting a state of well-being on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.
