WHAT IS REIKI?...

The system of Reiki is a Japanese technique of energy work that helps to promote harmony and balance. It is an effective, non invasive treatment that enhances the body’s natural healing ability whilst energising and promoting overall wellness. Reiki works directly on restoring balance on all levels; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

 

Reiki encourages deep relaxation and helps the body release stress and tension, dissolve energy blocks and promote the natural balance between mind, body and spirit. Reiki can help relieve pain and support physical healing; compliment medical treatment & other therapies; clear the mind and improve focus as you feel grounded & centred. Reiki can enhance everyday living, and may help to promote the development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being.

 

Literally translated, Reiki means, Life-Force Energy and it is this concentrated, fine attunement to Life-Force Energy that you experience during a session.  A Reiki treatment is holistic, caring for the ‘whole’ person; mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.  I find that Reiki is such a personal experience and 'what Reiki is' has subtle differences for each of us.  Each definition that I have read, has at it's core the common theme that Reiki brings us back to balance and in doing so allows the body, mind and spirit to do what it does best - work in harmony...

For me, Reiki is a journey and a way of life.  It underpins everything I am and everything I do.  Being in Reiki is a blessing that has, from the start, taught me to live with compassion, patience, empathy and connection.  It is the common thread that links all sentient beings, the life-force energy that is in all things...

THE POWER OF INTENTION...

Setting a realistic intention and creating a focus in everyday life can have a profound effect on our health and wellbeing.  'Where Focus Goes, Energy Flows'...  I find that holding an intention prior to a Reiki Session may help us to focus our mental energy, however it is important not to attach ourselves to a particular outcome, Reiki will always flow where it is most needed and this may not be where we think it will be!  Indeed we can hold the intention to 'feel relaxed' or to 'experience Reiki intently' or 'to relieve stress'.  Intention is personal to YOU.  We will hold space for your intention with each session.
